Dr. Adrienne Jett
About Me:
With over a decade of experience as a psychologist, I am committed to helping individuals work towards better well-being. I have expertise in multiple evidence-based treatments, which allows me to provide effective, personalized care to clients who have a variety of presenting concerns. I provide a compassionate, validating environment for clients who are struggling coping with painful circumstances, like significant losses, grief, or trauma. I also frequently help those looking for knowledge and useful strategies to manage intense emotions such as sadness, anger, or shame. My approach typically involves flexible therapeutic approaches that help improve emotion regulation, patterns of thinking, and one’s resilience in the face of challenging or upsetting situations. In our work together, I empower my clients to cultivate hope and independence, supporting them in enhancing their lives and building the skills and confidence to sustain their growth and success long after our time in therapy ends.
Academic and Professional Background:
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, developing strengths in both diagnostic assessment and therapy approaches. I have worked in various treatment settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and residential environments. Most recently, I worked for the Columbus VA helping military Veterans as part of their general outpatient mental health program. My years of experience in different settings allow me to successfully work with and help those struggling with complicated, overwhelming, and life-impairing symptoms, including severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I provide both assessment and therapy for adults across the lifespan from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, spiritual, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQ. I continuously seek education and consultation experiences to broaden and deepen my competencies and skills in providing effective care. I also have training and experience in clinical supervision and enjoy mentoring students. As an active member of my state psychological association, I am passionate about advocating for policies that support mental health providers in Ohio, as well as the communities and individuals we serve.
